We help manage rowing on the Barwon River in Geelong, including river usage, regattas and administration.
Our facilities
Geelong is privileged to have some of the best rowing facilities in the State including:
5km of river, exclusive to rowing and other paddling sports;
4 lane, 1500m buoyed racing course with full bike path visability;
Marked distances at 100m;
Dedicated finishing tower/regatta administration building;
Extensive public address system;
Large open space boat park; and
Over 200 metres of landing/staging
Who is Rowing Geelong?
Our Mission
Provide for and coordinate a suitable rowing environment in Geelong for clubs and schools covering both training and regattas; and to manage the interface between rowing, other recreational and sporting river users, the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority, the City of Greater Geelong, and our state rowing body, Rowing Victoria.
What we do
Represent the Geelong rowing clubs and schools to a number of key community and government bodies.
Manage the rowing course and associated rowing facilities in Geelong.
Promote rowing in Geelong.
Who are we?
Rowing Geelong (a trading name of The Geelong Rowing Association) comprises an Executive (President, Secretary, Treasurer) elected from interested members of the Geelong rowing community; two Vice-Presidents, and a Committee of delegates.
The Presidents of Barwon Rowing Club and Corio Bay Rowing Club are elected automatically as the two Vice Presidents, each Club also nominates Delegates from within their membership. The Schools also are represented by a Delegate each.
